A Eblida disponibilizou uma página no seu site que pretende ajudar a partilhar atividades de apoio aos refugiados do conflito da Ucrânia em curso em bibliotecas europeias que possam servir de exemplo e replicação. A DGLAB submeteu as sugestões que promove também junto das bibliotecas da RNBP.
Assim, disponibilizamos o guia/infografia (clique em cima da imagem para aceder a uma versão maior) que elaborámos e que, de acordo com a missão das bibliotecas públicas, contém sugestões de atividades e serviços que podem contribuir para a integração dos refugiados nos países de acolhimento. No final desta página poderá ainda encontrar, em formato para download e customização com logotipos, serviços, etc., um cartaz que identifica e divulga o apoio da biblioteca aos refugiados da Ucrânia (clique em cima da imagem do cartaz).
In tijden van oorlog is er voor bibliotheken en informatieprofessionals een bijzonder belangrijke rol weggelegd. De oorlog die momenteel in Oekraïne woedt, wordt niet enkel gevochten met wapens, maar ook met informatie. De Russische overheid besliste op 24 februari om militaire troepen Oekraïne, een soeverein land, binnen te sturen. In het Westen werd de actie meteen veroordeeld als een invasie. De Russische staatsmedia noemden het een speciale operatie om Oekraïne te bevrijden van het neonazisme.
Toegang tot betrouwbare informatie
Als beroepsvereniging van informatieprofessionals ijveren we ervoor dat alle burgers nu en in de toekomst gebruik kunnen maken van goed bewaarde en toegankelijke informatie.
Onze sector zit mee in de frontlinie in de strijd tegen fake news. We moeten erover waken dat gebruikers de weg vinden naar betrouwbare informatie, dat zij toegang krijgen tot bronnen die de verschillende aspecten in het verhaal belichten. We moeten beducht zijn voor elke vorm van censuur, aandacht hebben voor de nuance en ons inzetten om democratie en vrije meningsuiting te beschermen.
We moedigen bibliotheken aan om zich samen met de overheden en andere partners in te zetten om vluchtelingen op te vangen met de informatie, infrastructuur en middelen die zij ter beschikking hebben. EBLIDA, het netwerk van bibliotheken in Europa, zal op haar website een pagina aanmaken waarop inspirerende initiatieven gedeeld worden.
Documentair en cultureel erfgoed
De fysieke vernielingen van het oorlogsgeweld vormen een bedreiging voor de collecties van bibliotheken, archieven en documentatiecentra in Oekraïne. Belangrijke archieven dreigen voor altijd verloren te gaan. Ook bibliotheken zullen bij de gevechten en raketaanvallen onherroepelijk verloren gaan. Het voorkomen en opvangen van deze verliezen is een grote uitdaging voor onze sector.
Wij ondersteunen dan ook de oproep van ICA, de Internationale Archiefraad, om het documentair en cultureel erfgoed in Oekraïne te sparen, en het Verdrag inzake de bescherming van culturele goederen in geval van een gewapend conflict van 1954 te respecteren.
Het bestuur van de VVBAD veroordeelt elke vorm van geweld en inbreuk op de rechten van de mens. We leven mee met alle slachtoffers van deze oorlog en roepen onze collega’s op om hun rol op te nemen in de strijd tegen desinformatie.

The importance of citizens’ access to free and undistorted information, especially in times of war and crises, cannot be exaggerated. Libraries provide the basis for public access to knowledge and play a crucial role in the fight against disinformation. They are therefore a fundamental and indespensable part of society’s democratic infrastructure, which is now under attack in Ukraine.
Libraries are also the custodians of significant parts of the nations’ cultural heritage. The importance of history is specially highlighted in these difficult and dangerous times when both physical and digital source materials are at risk of being destroyed. The Nordic National Libraries are deeply worried and support the National Library of Ukraine and our Ukrainian colleagues in their struggle to preserve the collections, to continue their operations and oppose the Russian aggression.
Russia has ratified UNESCO:s 1954 Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict, the 1954 Hague Convention. By doing so Russia has committed to protecting Cultural Heritage.

Poza innymi działaniami związanymi z pomocą dla bibliotek w Ukrainie, w poniedziałek dyrektor Biblioteki Narodowej dr Tomasz Makowski wysłał do 58 międzynarodowych organizacji bibliotekarskich i bibliotek narodowych apel o wsparcie dla Ukrainy o poniższej treści.
The National Library of Poland supports the appeal made by the national libraries of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia regarding solidarity initiatives with the people of Ukraine. We were shocked and saddened to learn that on February 24, Russian troops launched an invasion of Ukraine. There can be no acceptance for this in today’s free, united world – a world that has experienced the First and Second World Wars. There can be no acceptance of aggression, the killing of innocent and vulnerable people, including the elderly, children and women. Every country has the right to independence, to make its own decisions about its future and to defend its lands and citizens. Poland stands for a free, independent and democratic Ukraine.
Libraries are places of peace, of inclusivity, of the preservation and sharing of knowledge, of the fight against untruths and fake news. We cannot accept brutal aggression against one of our close partner countries. The National Library of Poland calls on all libraries and cultural institutions to come together in the defence of the values that are close to us and to Ukraine: freedom, independence, the right to self-determination, openness to the world, to different people and their stories.
Let us unite in support of a free Ukraine.

Biblioteka Narodowa w Polsce popiera apel Bibliotek Narodowych Litwy, Łotwy i Estonii w sprawie inicjatyw solidarności z narodem ukraińskim. Z szokiem i smutkiem przyjęliśmy wiadomość, że 24 lutego wojska rosyjskie rozpoczęły inwazję na Ukrainę. We współczesnym, wolnym i solidarnym świecie, doświadczonym przeżyciami I i II wojny światowej nie może być na to zgody. Nie ma zgody na agresję, na zabijanie niewinnych i bezbronnych, w tym osób starszych, dzieci i kobiet. Każde państwo ma prawo do niepodległości, do podejmowania samodzielnych decyzji o swojej przyszłości oraz do obrony swoich ziem i obywateli. Polska opowiada się po stronie wolnej, niepodległej i demokratycznej Ukrainy.
Biblioteki są miejscem pokoju, włączania, przechowywania i dzielenia się wiedzą oraz dbania o walkę z nieprawdą i fake newsami. Nie możemy się godzić na brutalną agresję wymierzoną w jeden z bliskich nam krajów. Biblioteka Narodowa Polski wzywa wszystkie biblioteki oraz instytucje kultury do włączenia się w obronę wartości bliskich nam oraz Ukrainie: wolności, niepodległości, prawa do samostanowienia, otwartości na świat, na różnych ludzi i ich historie.
